Mmhmm

Relient K's fourth album

ah, yes. the famed Mmhmm record. its Relient Ks most popular record as of 2024, and it contains their most popular song, "Be My Escape". this record was released on November 2nd, 2004. in this record, the band seems to finally have their own sound for RK and honestly, its great. while i do enjoy their earlier records, it makes sense why everyone likes it. its a good youth group album with songs about both relationships with God and other people. this was also the last record to feature bassist Brian Pittman before he left the band. We also see some new faces like John Shneck and Jon Warne, who end up being a part of RK for years to come. Without further ado, i will head right into the album review.

first, i'll talk about the album art. i believe the flower on it is called a Black-Eyed Susan. to me, this flower reminds me of childhood and springtime. something that ive noticed is that not only are the petals semi-transparent, so is the rest of the flower. i think thas pretty neat. This is the second album they had that featured art! their third album Two Lefts Don't Make A Right... But Three Do also had artwork on it.

the booklet art is also really cool. it has a nice nature theme to it with bees, dandelions, and other things.
